Toy agents and brokers provide an extremely valuable service by acting as a middleman between you and the manufacturer. Using their knowledge and experience, to get your choice produced in atomic fashion and of course, they should be compensated for. Most brokers work off a percentage of your total production run and what is in a broker's best interest to get your toys produced in the most efficient way possible, it's not uncommon for a toy broker to want the largest possible production run available. I have been in contact with brokers in the past who tried to play to my ego by telling me how great my idea is and how successful it will eventually be and as you consider this success, when thinking about how many pieces I will be ordering. It's great to have confidence in your ideas and positive feedback from others is always welcome. But just be sure to always go with your final negotiations with a clear and level head and only order the right amount of product for the audience that you think you can reach.
