Katz finds the selflessness serving others as a career and life coach more rewarding than anything he has ever done. Training and experience help him to bring out energy, competence and confidence in his clients and work with them to find new jobs and accomplish life goals. Garren Katz is a business and personal coach based in State College, PA.
Erik: What makes your work meaningful? Garren: Oh, wow. It’s the most meaningful work I’ve ever done. The opportunity to be completely selfless and be truly of service to someone else—it’s such a special feeling. I literally had a client that hired me about a month ago and she—talented gal, talented gal but she just really struggling in the job market, interview after interview after interview, coming up just a little bit short, and we did two sessions together, and really just—again, like I mentioned before expanded out, you know, what she was doing, what energy was she truly bringing to the interview, and what energy, what was she offering, what could she maybe tweak or change and within two sessions, she actually got—she was offered a position that by no means was it our work 100% but she even said, she really was shifting her energy in what she was—what was coming out of her after we started working together, and that’s extremely meaningful, or you know, I’ll have clients write me letters about personal growth and insight, and development that they have come about from our work or has come about from our work and that’s extremely meaningful to me and rewarding to me. Yeah, I absolutely love it.
